Employment Rights Bill Update

The government has just announced their decision not to proceed with the introduction of day-one unfair dismissal rights.

employment law

Under the revised plans, employees will need to complete six months of continuous service before they qualify to bring an unfair dismissal claim, rather than gaining this protection from the first day of their employment.

Turn Awareness into Action

Does your workplace truly understand Diversity and Inclusion?

Creating an inclusive environment isn’t just good practice — it’s essential for a positive, productive and legally compliant workplace.

Confident Managers

Our half-day Diversity and Inclusion training course is designed to support employees at all levels in understanding what inclusion really means and its impact across an organisation.

What the Course Covers

Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to:

• Understand the meaning behind diversity and inclusion

• Recognise the nine protected characteristics within the Equality Act 2010

• Identify the different types of discrimination

• Explore how personal beliefs and values influence behaviour

• Understand individual responsibilities in promoting an inclusive workplace

This session is ideal for organisations looking to strengthen their culture, improve awareness and ensure best practice.

A Merry, Not Messy Christmas

As we head into the Christmas party season, these events are happy occasions — full of celebration and connection.

But we all know that alcohol can sometimes lead to inappropriate remarks or alcohol-fuelled conflict.

Unfair Dismissal

With around 40 tribunal cases every festive season linked to workplace Christmas events, it’s essential to remind staff of the expected standards of behaviour before the celebrations begin.

A quick, well-timed reminder can help ensure everyone enjoys the festivities safely, respectfully, and without risk to the business.

Stay Compliant

With 2026 approaching, now is the ideal time to ensure your Health & Safety audits are fully up to date.

Health and Safety

Recent inspections show that nearly half of SMEs assessed by the HSE had out-of-date or incomplete risk assessments — a worrying figure, particularly as these are a legal requirement under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Our expert team will review your current measures, identify any gaps and provide personalised recommendations to help you strengthen compliance and build a positive, proactive safety culture across your organisation.

Taylor Made Dreams

The Tunbridge Wells Business Awards winners have now been announced. Forrest Group proudly sponsored the Charity of the Year category, with three fantastic finalists: Taylor-Made Dreams, Nourish, and Family 2 Family. The winner is Nourish Community Foodbank, and our CEO, Sophie Forrest-Lavery, will be presenting the award at the ceremony next week.
